To get to the next water point, a small spring in the rainforest, the farmers have to travel a long distance through the wastelands that have been cleared and burned. Because there are no more trees they are exposed to extreme sun and heat.
With “Trees for water” we are gonna make a change for the farmers. Along the waterline, that has been established, we will set up water stations for the local farmers free to use. Those water stations will be surrounded by mainly fruit trees and trees of use such as Moringa. The trees will provide shadow and some snacks for the people while fetching water and turn the water stations into beautiful oases for a nice rest in the midday heat. The only commitment by the farmers will be the protection of these trees and taking care of their well-being.
